Upside Down Tomatoes

I planted these Early Girls at the beginning of April and it's slow going. They seem to grow better when it's really hot and it's been unusually cool here lately. I have another bucket hanging next to it that has cherry tomatoes but they are really tiny. I think I need to add fertilizer, maybe that will help.

That's so cool. Why do you hang them like that? To keep from having to stake them up? And good luck with the gopher holes!

Yes, I don't like using the cages. It's easier to get to the tomatoes and I don't seem to have as many issues with pests (like the hookworm).

Growing tomatoes, bake sales, knitting blankets, and exercising every day while having a family -- you never fail to amaze me with all you do! I can't wait for your journey -- I'm about busting out of my skin, which means, at this point in time, I can only imagine how you are doing.
